Compare

Intent 2: Compare

Fair decision frameworks for HVAC and plumbing choices before you approve the work.

Honest comparison

Compare scope, fit, risk, and value, not just price.

These pages do not attack named competitors. They give you decision criteria you can use with any proposal: what is included, what is excluded, whether the system fits the home, and what trade-offs you are accepting.

Compare the scope first

A low number may exclude electrical, gas piping, permits, disposal, duct repairs, controls, condensate, startup, or warranty labor. A high number may be reasonable when those items are included.

Compare the home fit

A recommendation should match the home, not only the equipment catalog. Ask how sizing, duct condition, room-by-room comfort, water demand, venting, and service access affected the proposal.

Compare the risk transfer

Look at what happens after approval: who handles inspections, what would trigger a price change, what labor is warranted, who owns rebates, and how follow-up service is scheduled.

Need more background first?

If a comparison assumes terms you do not recognize, start with the Learn path and glossary before judging equipment recommendations.

Ready to act?

Use the Act path when you have a quote, budget question, financing question, or maintenance decision ready for a real conversation.
