Safe first checks for HVAC, heat pump, water-heater, and plumbing issues before you call for service.

Some problems have simple first checks. Others need a licensed technician or plumber. Use this as a safe triage list, then call Eagle Pipe if the issue continues.

Heating or cooling will not turn on

Check thermostat mode, batteries if applicable, the breaker, and whether the filter is severely restricted. Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips again.

Weak performance

Replace a dirty filter, confirm vents are open, and check outdoor heat pump clearance. Persistent weak airflow or icing needs professional diagnosis.

No hot water

Confirm the breaker or gas supply if it is safe to do so. Water around the tank, burned smells, or repeated resets should be handled by a professional.

Leaks or gas concerns

Active water leaks, suspected gas leaks, and sewage backups are call-now issues. If you smell gas, leave the area and contact the utility or emergency services before scheduling repair.

When to call

If the basic check does not solve it, call Eagle Pipe. We can diagnose the cause and explain repair, replacement, or quote-review options.
